Heard at a meeting (won’t tell you who said these):
“Never ever plan to NOT go to a meeting.” It is alright to not go, for one reason or another–just do not PLAN it that way. Ya never know!
When I take some time out to meditate–somehow I always ALWAYS end up with more time that day.
Out of the 86,400 seconds in a day, did I bother to take even ONE of them to thank my Higher Power?
“Don’t die on Third” (Third Step, that is…) Too many of us go back out, because we stayed for months trying to work perfectly the Third Step. Guys, let’s get ON with it. The Third Step is REALLY worked by doing the REST of the steps. PLEASE believe me on this.
“I’m ‘pretty sure’ I’m an alcoholic”…
Yesterday’s ANGER is
Today’s RESENTMENT is
Tomorrow’s FEAR…
And could possibly be my next DRINK!
Some Peeps are “morning drinkers”
Some are “night drinkers”
I was BOTH!
At 3 AM…
Husband to wife: “My friend got stinking drunk and puked all over my shirt.”
Wife (putting his clothes into laundry basket): “And I guess it was he also who crapped in your pants???”
On giving a lead at an AA meeting:
Remember that how I GOT here is not nearly as important as how I STAY here.
How to stop behaving like a fool:
Daily I must do a check-up…from the neck up.
The “second moment of silence” at an AA meeting:
You can tell the depth of the topic, by the length of the silence….
Been to jail. Been sober. SOBER is BETTER!
There are two kinds of alcoholics: WOMEN and MEN!
