i watch the dawn
spreading a hint
of light over far eastern skies
melting away
deep shadows dark
drying up tears in my eyes
light that shrinks shadows
changing the forms
that haunt into those of ease
displacing the dark
with rays of hope
i gratefully soak in some peace
another day
is granted to me
to live a life worth living
to do what’s right
to make amends
give back what to me’s been given

Perfectly balanced. A new day. A new start. A hopeful ending.
Shadow,
I loved your six word description. Thanks for taking me up on my request.

Shadow- very noble thoughts, gratitude and giving back. You do that daily with your encouraging words so finely crafted. Be well. ~rick

As always your poetry is one of a kind. As I looked at the photo I felt happiness, freedom, memories , ” I’d love to splash barefoot in the water again. I felt gratitude. You gave me a touch of Heaven! smiles
