what do you do
when you see that one
whom your heart aches for a great deal
whom you want to take
and comfort yet shake
give them something to get them to heal
for i know where you were
and where you could be
since you started from same point as me????
it hurts so much
to see you as such
that i turn away feeling empty
every time i see you
you bring tears to my eye
i’ve decided
the best is to hide
from you, your life
it hurts too much
to see nothing change
while at straws i clutch
and i wonder if joy
is in your life
what thoughts you have
when you close your eyes
do waking moments
mean constant worry
or are there too
some times real funny
i wonder when was
the last time of calm
when happiness swept
over you like a balm
or are you actually happy now???
what is it you deeply regret??
would you do all again without a thought
would you find a different outlet?
a question i ask
will the pain go away
will the pain go away for you
and what should i do
to heal my pain
the pain i feel for you
so what is left for me to do
but let go like i’ve been told
it’s the way to go to save myself
but i still want to reach you and hold
hiding away
doesn’t dry up the tears
they lie waiting for moments unguarded
then my heart starts to bleed
the sorrow it feeds
off my feelings haunted and hounded
and tears start flowing
they flow
and flow…
how’d you do this, this letting go??????

love doesn’t give in, it gives freedom

Shadow you are doing something lovely by being concerned
Presence is sometimes the only gift we have to share.
Lovely poem!
One is just a word. One is hope based on chance. The other is strength, support, connection, flow, energy-Just what I seen. Ummm. This one felt familiar. was it supposed to or just my paranoia? I guess saving yourself is sometimes all that’s left and even superhero’s have limits. Take care~Rick
You described perfectly the torment of watching, unable to change another, desperation…and finally the last gift to yourself…saving the only one you can - you. This is oh, so familiar it’s the dance I’ve danced with my father. I couldn’t save him, I barely saved me. (Hugs)Indigo
Wow what an amazing post and thank you, so gld that you are on the TSR and so amazed to read your words and feel the movement in my heart and soul.
Shadow… This is sad and beautiful. I can feel your pain coming right through my computer. Wishing you peace.
whom you want to take
and comfort yet shake…wow, that is a familiar and disconcerting feeling
You’ve beautifully captured the most horrible, helpless feeling in the world!
WOnderful poem. I don’t know if you picked the picture to go with it, but it works really well. The way the two circles are connected, with the one below bigger, as though it feeds off the top one.
