I can’t believe that it’s been over 3 weeks since we last touched base. Chip, who wrote the last two blogs, has been chained to his computer until the last 2.2% of the business plan was finished. As of this writing, we have a complete business plan, painstakingly written and re-written by Melissa and Chip over these last few weeks. Kudos to you both!
I’m Ginger and I’ll be here on a regular basis, updating you on the progress of The Second Road. Chip wrote about our event and it was indeed a night to remember! The room was full, the chocolate fountain was flowing, the flowers bloomed at exactly 6:00 p.m., the food was wonderful and everyone had a blast. The highlight of the evening was a video presentation put together by our very own Richard, which was a 12 minute compilation of peoples’ stories about the horror of addiction and the miracle of recovery. Everyone was mesmerized by the honesty, the pain, and the hope that each person spoke of. Virtually every person in the room could relate on one level or another.
We’re now in the process of following up with all the folks that came to the event and working hard to find seed donors and others that will make our dream a reality. As a result, Tina (our development director), Chip and Melissa are out of the office a lot, so that leaves me here holding down the fort and making sure everyone is in the right place at the right time. While I have a few extra minutes, here are some pictures from the event. Enjoy!
