Bouncing off the Bottom

Twelve Steps to a Real Life and a Pretty Good Time

Progress on the Big Yuck?

None. Nada. Zilch. Zip. Zero.

However, today it was not because I was avoiding it, but because other stories took priority. As a sober person, I have learned to prioritize, particularly when what I put first is more interesting.

You can’t hear tone of voice in posts, but hopefully you’ve realized that the above is delivered with my tongue firmly in my cheek. Sobriety has also made it so much easier to laugh at myself.

Leave a response and help improve reader response. All your responses matter, so say whatever you want. But please refrain from spamming and shameless plugs, as well as excessive use of vulgar language. Please refer to our Code of Conduct.

Hi, Martha… Read your NYTimes piece online this morning. The Bus to Houston. Loved it…family of origin issues and the way it molds and shapes a childs future - fascinating to me. (Of course, I also have my own issues!)

Regarding the Big Yuck, I am facing a similar situation. Finally getting it that small steps, any progress, motivates me to eventually get the job done. It is better to suffer through the tedium bit by bit than procrastinate to the point where I have to do everything at a crazed pace for hours upon hours with no break.

So this morning I will type one interview into a Word doc and if I can do more, great. If not I have still accomplished something. I dislike this particular project I am doing but must get it done too. It will feel great when it is behind me.

    Happy Sunday…
